Washing Tips
To produce an affordable, large, durable camping and emergency blanket we use milled wool. The wool is sourced by our team in India. The color, stitching, and size are designed in the USA. While the blankets are designed to a specific size, they may be a bit larger or smaller.
Permanent Dye
Most military-style wool blankets are dyed with a permanent dye during production to give them a uniform color. The dye is water resistant and holds up very well.
Common to all blankets of this type, the dye may give off an odor temporarily when first unpackaged. On occasion the odor can be strong. Machine washing will not remove the odor since the permanent dye is water resistant. The best way to remove the dye odor is to air out the blanket. Airing out the blanket for a few days (sometimes longer) does the trick. The dye odor will go away.
Milled wool blankets are pretty easy to care for. They'll last for many years if taken care of properly.
